The younger generation today is so different; they cling to technology instead of playing old-fashioned games that we all know and love. Let’s Play Ball!

One of the best things you can do during a bright sunny day is to throw around a ball. Bocce Ball is an interesting game that combines Skee ball, Shuffleboard, Lawn Bowling, and Petanque. So it’s time to dust off our favorite bocce ball set and take the kids for a game outside; it can be played by 2 to 8 people in an open space or your backyard. Divide into teams and start playing in the great outdoors!

If You Can’t Beat Them, Join Them

If you can’t get them off their computer or consoles, then introduce them to your old childhood video games, like Mario, Sonic, and Street Fighter. You would be amazed at how many places there are that sell video games online, many of these places putting emphasis on the retro classics of your youth. Maybe you can show them your old Warcraft and Dune RTS games.

Take a trip down memory lane and show your kids what you used to play when you were young, it can be fun, and you’d still be bonding with them. Also, show them what type of pro you were back in the day, they would really respect you more if they see you were a gamer too.

Musical Chairs Can Solve An Argument

For your younger kids who fight and bicker over anything, introduce this game, which helps teach your children to resolve issues peacefully, deal with disappointment, and practice patience.

Get some chairs and set them in a circle, have your kids run around them in circles while listening to music. Once it stops, keep going until one of the kids is out of the game. They will learn to deal with the frustration of being out, practice patience, and to wait graciously. So, it can be fun and educational.

Tell them stories of how you used to play hopscotch outside your home or school. It’s perfect for developing their critical thinking skills and making them exercise instead of sitting down all day too. Very funny moments await when they see you fail at jumping at the right symbol or falling, be safe and have a good time.
