For so many around the world, coronavirus has changed our world drastically.  Children are out of school, parents out of work, and social interactions have gone from in-person to online.

One of our biggest concerns is our children’s educational needs.  Being out of school for five to six months leaves the opportunity for regression.  Engaging our children in learning activities is a must, but it can be tough to teach them the skills they want to learn on our own.

While the stay in place orders can seem overwhelming and negative, we want to turn this time into one of positive and learning.   During this last week, we were able to watch our twelve-year-old daughter enjoy a weeklong virtual tech camp learning Roblox game design through iD Tech.

Virtual Tech Camps from iD Tech

Our daughter loves Roblox. Being autistic, she does struggle with social interactions. Roblox has been a way for her to create and play with her friends, without judgment or stress. She has always wanted to learn how to build the games she enjoys so much. So, when I told her, she would be not only learning to create Roblox games but monetization, she was thrilled!

Each course in the Virtual Tech Camps comes with an iD Certified Instructor and an iD Small Class Guarantee™ (Max 5 students).  This class model was perfect for our daughter.  She was able to learn with others, but still had every chance possible to ask questions.

One of the features I enjoyed about the Virtual Tech Camp was the amount of instruction. In the week-long course (5 days), there were 2 hours a day of direct instruction along with 2 hours of self-paced learning. This amount of time was perfect for our daughter to engage with the teacher and other students.  The self-paced project development also worked well for her to be able to take breaks when she needed to do so.

Online Private Lessons

We loved the ability for our daughter to learn in such a small class size.  I was blown away by how much she learned from just ten hours of direct instruction.  She created an entire game within Roblux, learned how to monetize it, and is excited to learn more.

We want her to continue learning at such a strong pace, and that’s where online private lessons come to play.  iD Tech offers online private lessons to help learn to code, discover AI, mod Minecraft, create in Roblox, and so much more!

These lessons allow your child to lead the way with the ability to choose from one of iD Tech’s themes, or customize their own! With one-on-one attention from iD Certified Instructors, they’ll build in-demand skills and create a completely personalized project.
